It had taken a long time to muster the power necessary to turn the tides of
evil. They had been impeded by arcane force and horrible monsters, but
they stood their ground throughout the whole attack.

Behind their lines, they had been preparing a huge siege, one unlike any
that had been seen before. They had just one chance to launch the attack,
and they knew that they were ready for the fiends⁵ counterattack. The time
had come to strike back.

Mid-Range decks are all about charging up your devastating spells.
Although your preliminary forces may be strong enough to tide you over, a
Mid-Range player shines well after the beginning of the game, when the
match transitions from early game into late game. When that time comes,
the player is prepared to unleash a game-finishing blow that decisively
wins the game.

These decks must be strong throughout the entire match. They should be
able to withstand the immediate assault of an Aggro deck as well as the
long, drawn-out war of attrition of a Control deck. Mid-Range decks
should also be careful to protect and diversify their finishing spells. In case
one of their winning solutions is terminated, they must be ready to follow

How to Win with Mid-Range

Early into a Mid-Range player^s game, they will want to ramp up their
available mana and begin to lay the foundation for their later spells. Mid-
Range players may use spells like Dark Tutelage¹ to gain card advantage or Mana Bloom? to add mana sources to their field.
 Before playing their bigger spells, a Mid-Range player should have a good
 host of options in front of them. Cards like Siege Rhino³ are used to
 threaten players with sturdy creatures while slowly tearing down their life.
 Spells like Overrun^ and Ctaterhoof Behemoths can swiftly end the game if
 a Mid-Range field is already developed.
 In case the Mid-Range deck faces heavy opposition, they may find that
 their threats are being hosed. Cards like Kalonian Behemoth^ and Simic
 Sky Swallower: are able to deal damage and hold their own in combat
 while shirking enemy sorcery. Mid-Range players may also want to pack
 some counterspells such as Spell Shrivel进 which is able to be played in
 multi-color decks and exile cards.
 Even by playing defensively, a Mid-Range player may find themselves
 upset by more formidable decks. When choosing game-ending spells, be
 sure to bring defensive spells like Ranger's Guile⁹ to ensure that your
 monster is not slain too early.
